dr Natalija Bogdanov - ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER

Prof. Dr Natalija Bogdanov is key national and regional expert in rural development and agricultural policy focused in the areas of rural economy, structural changes in agriculture, rural povetry, macroeconomic analysis in agriculture and different types of capital creation and manifestation in rural areas in Serbia.

Dr Bogdanov is professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, being engaged in lecturing courses focused on her main expertises – agricultural economics and policy, and rural economy and EU integration. Her teaching experience additionally includes lecturing at the number of postgraduate courses amongst which are the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade, International MBA Programme in Agrobusiness and Commerce (TEMPUS Project), and at the University of Bologna at MA course in Sustainable Development of Agricultural and Rural Areas of the Adriatic-Ionian Basin.

In addition to her fruitful academic career, dr Bogdanov has been engaged as a lead national, regional and international expert to conduct and design research projects and initiativesof UNDP, FAO, World Bank, EAR and ECspanning from the domains of agricultural and rural developmental policies, rural development and employment, rural social capital, rural povetry to EU accession processes and the the state of agriculture in candidates countries.

Dr Bogdanov received her PhD in agriculture fromthe Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade in 1999 and Msc. in agriculture at the same Faculty in 1993. She obtained her Bsc. in the same discipline in 1985 from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade. She authored and co-authored two books, over 140 scientific articles, and managed three EU researched projects and two national research projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. She is a member of the Association of Agricultural Economists of Serbia, European Association of Agricultural Economists and national representative in EC DG Research – KBBE Network. She is a Honorary Member of the CENTER since its inception, and from 2015 a member of its Advisory Board. She speaks English and Russian.

Svetlana Đurđević Lukić Fund: HUMAN SECURITY FOR THE NEW CENTURY

Uncertainty and vulnerability of the individual in the 21st century is the focus of CENTAR’s Human Security Programme. Building on foundations set by the recently departed co-founder and longtime director of CENTAR, Svetlana Đurđević Lukić, CENTAR regards security as a human right and advocates for construing a society in which every individual will have opportunities to reach their potential. Svetlana had a talent of pioneering the introduction of many topics – primarily concerned with the security of vulnerable groups – into security discourse within Serbia. Fostering this approach, starting from 2016, CENTAR, as part of its foundation named after the late Svetlana, holds a competition with the goal of inspiring young researchers to examine modern day threats.
