Parliament's Committee on human and minority rights and gender equality and OSCE Mission to Serbia cooperation

The Serbian parliament's committee on human and minority rights and gender equality and OSCE Mission to Serbia have very successful and intensive cooperation, Chair of the Committee Meho Omerovic and Head of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Democratization Department Jan Lueneburg said on Monday.
Omerovic and Lueneburg agreed that cooperation will further improve during Serbia's OSCE chairmanship, the Serbian parliament's press office said.
Lueneburg underscored that the committee on human and minority rights and gender equality is one of the most successful committees in the Serbian parliament, saying that the OSCE Mission will continue to give it full backing.
Omerovic said that the OSCE's support is of immense importance for the parliament in Serbia's EU integration process, and informed the OSCE official about the agenda for 2015.
With the backing from the OSCE, the committee will hold a meeting in Sjenica (the underdeveloped Bosniak-majority municipality in the southeastern part of the country) that will deal with economic empowerment of women, he said.
Omerovic also noted that the committee will hold meetings on cooperation with civil society organizations, implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, a public hearing of representatives of newly-elected national councils of national minorities.
